Abstract  Spaceborne radar altimeter is able to measure the distance between satellite and mean sea level, the significant wave height, the backscatter coefficient and other oceanography parameters in all weather and all day.It is a very important spaceborne microwave sensor. This paper puts forward a preliminary state amplifier and “full deramp” technique. Its objective is ±10 cm in height measuring. An adaptive tracker built around a microprocessor will perform height tracking function.Because of its high pulse compression rate, low mass and low peak life, the altimeter can easily be spaceborne on various platform.
