    An idea that information of columnar aerosol size distribution can be abstracted from the direct solar radiation received on the ground surface has been expanded to that on various levels above the ground,which is called as the step remote sensing.Consequently,the vertical structure of aerosol size distribution can be found out.In the field of Beijing meteorological tower,the new scheme has been tested with some experiments and numerical method.It is shown that the scheme affords great promise of being used for detecting of the profile of atmospheric aerosol in the boundary layer.A discussion is also made for relation of the resolution of vertical direction with the observation precision.

    The phenological observation data of main vegetation in Xinjiang in 1980—1990 are analyzed in this paper.The authors conclude that the optimum temporal of forest vegetation is taken in au- tumn,pasture and crops are taken in spring and late summer.

    The method,measuring data,results and discussion on algorithm research of vegetative factor for undisturbed areas is introduced.According to measuring data of the annual soil loss and its pa- rameter by means of marked piles,formula of vegetative foctor has been created.It can be used more conveniently on remote sensing monitoring soil loss in comparison with looking for USLE’s C— value table.The C formula is Shown that relation between C value and vegetative cover c is inverse ratio,and change range of C value is 0.45~0 along with change range(0~80%)of vegetative cover c.As compared with measuring annual soil loss(?),the greater part accuracy of monitoring annual soil loss,the greater part accuracy of monitoring annual soil loss exceed 80%,average accuracy is 77.4% or 82.1%.

    This paper describes three applications of fractals theory in remote sensing:(i)analyse texture information of remote sensing image,including different images and different cover types;(ii)class auxiliarily remote sensing images,verify the result from spectral classification using analysis of fractals;(iii)simulate remote sensing images,generate remote sensing images using fractal surface gener- ation algorithms based on fractal dimension of real images.
