Airborne 3D imager, which integrates global positioning system (GPS), attitude measurement
unit (AMU), scanning laser range finder(SLR) and spectrum imager, is a new airborne remote sensing
technology system. It can generate geo-referenced image (orthographic image) without ground control
points and it uses the laser points distributed in the image to rectify raw image. SLR and spectrum imager
use the same optical system which ensure the image and laser point to be matched closely. The calculation
of 3D position of laser point is the key to the 3D imager. According to geometry principle, the position of
laser point can be determined if the space position of airplane is surveyed by GPS, the attitude of the
airplane is surveyed by AMU and the range from air to ground is measured by SLR. In this paper the
principle and data structure of 3D imager is introduced first, then the procedure of calculating the position
of laser point is presented in detail based on the design principle of the imager. A processing example that
is a part of flight test in South China is given in the end to verify the feasibility of the algorithm.

Coal fires are widely prevalent in the north of China. They have already caused huge losses in
resources and pose a serious environmental problem. To monitor and extinguish coal fires, the first step is
to detect their location and scale. Because of the huge amounts of heat energy released by coal fires, the
resulting thermal anomalies can be detected by using thermal infrared remote sensing technology. On
nocturnal aerial images it is relatively easy to discern coal fires, because the effect of solar radiation is
insignificant. However, nocturnal aerial images are not available as often as Landsat TM daytime images
for such a large area as the north of China. In this paper, we first give a briefing of the basic principle in
reducing solar radiation on TM thermal IR image. Then, neural network is used to set up a mathematical
model of ground temperature. In view of the special character of artificial neural network used in this
application, we offer the batch learning approach and adjust active momental factor. The result achieved
by reducing solar radiation on TM thermal IR image is as good as airborne nighttime thermal infrared
image for detecting coal fires. So this method is very practical and greatly economizes the cost of aerial
    remote sensing image.

To research into the distribution of laser spot on the sea surface of airborne laser bathymetric system, to obtain the relationship between its spacing and scan mode, scan driver rate, laser frequency and plane speed, and to optimize its distribution are important. The calibration method of its asymmetry distribution is put forward, and the relationship between real metrical position and laser spot position is discussed in this paper.

In the application of CAD and GIS, the calculated quantity and complicacy of intersection between lines are very large; there have been a few methods to decrease the quantity of calculation, however, the intersection between line segments was still the traditional method. Our study established a method called“Local space transform”, can simplify the procession of intersection between line segments, improve the efficiency and decrease the complicacy. It proved in our experiment that more study is needed to improve the method.

The paper contrasts and analyzes the visual light and near infrared-ray wave band spectrum
feature curves of crude oil, diesel oil and lubricate oil, which are obtained through the experiments, and
shows their spectrum features varying with the thickness,oil-water contrast rule and absorption feature
parameters. With the increase of the thickness, the reflection rate of diesel oil generally tends to increase,
while that of lubricate and curde oil decreases. The reflection rate of diesel oil is much higher than that of
sea water, while that of lubricate oil is higher than that of sea water in the blue-green band. The contrast of
the curde oil and water is the lowest in the blue-green wave band.It can help to determine oil film
thickness, discriminate oil film and sea water, and identify oil types,so that it may be available to monitor
sea oil spilling through satellite remote sensing method.

In this paper, the major technical parameter and characteristic index of China-Brazil Resources
Satellite No.1 are given. And the data received by high resolving power CCD camera are selected. The
data include three wave bands of Nanjing area which are the second, third, fourth wave band. In data
processing of the second wave band, there are several apparent stripes and the reasons that cause the
stripes have been checked out. Then it contrasts the three wave band stack image not removed of stripes
and the three wave band stack image removed of stripes. Through that, we found that the image quality is
improved apparently. Geometric correction is applied to these two stacks image. And the quality of the
latter is better than that of the former. The image processed by geometric correction is analysed and the
image information shows that its ground resolution reaches 20 meters. We can conclude that the data of
China-Brazil Resources Satellite could be applied to extraction of special information, such as land use,
forest cover, geology and agriculture, etc.

By“lifting”scheme, we can get Integer Wavelet Transforms(IWT) which are important for lossless compression of image. Based on the idea, we can get the coefficients for reversible integer wavelet transforms, then encode this coefficients by zero-tree coding and arithmetic coding .Finally we compare the experimental results with the best JPEG, It can be seen that IWT can be used in remote sensing image lossless compression efficiently.

A system applied to recognize specialized objects automatically in remote sensing images is
presented in this paper. The architecture of system and the flow of process are introduced. An approach to
set up object model based on straight-line features and an algorithm of matching between image and model
is proposed. Object model is composed with both a classifying model and a describing model. The former
describes the class features of object and is used to detect the existence of object and its location, while the
latter is a quantitative description of object and can be used to identify different object belong to the same
class. As to matching algorithm, both geometric and physical properties are used hierarchically, and the
possible errors made in line extraction are taken into account, making it more robust and efficient.
